1. Our commitment
Every child and young person has the right to learn in a safe, respectful environment and to be protected from harm. Safeguarding takes priority over academic or commercial considerations.
This policy applies to everyone providing services for or on behalf of The Architecture Education Studio and covers online and in-person contact with students under 18.
2. Safer tuition arrangements
A parent or guardian must be aware of and approve tuition for a student under 18. Arrangements, scheduling, and material communications should use agreed professional channels, with parent or guardian visibility where appropriate.
Sessions should take place through agreed platforms and in suitable environments. Sessions are not recorded, and images or student work are not published, unless informed permission has been obtained. Tutors should avoid unnecessary private contact or the exchange of personal social-media details.
3. Tutor conduct
Tutors must maintain clear professional boundaries, communicate respectfully, avoid favouritism or inappropriate language, and never promise confidentiality where a safeguarding concern may need to be shared.
Tutors are expected to report concerns promptly, preserve factual notes, and share information only with those who need it to protect the student. Recruitment and ongoing supervision should reflect the level of contact tutors have with children and young people.
4. Raising a concern
If you are worried about a student's safety or about the conduct of a tutor, email enquiries@thearchitectureeducationstudio.com with the subject “Safeguarding concern”. Concerns will be taken seriously, recorded appropriately, and acted on without avoidable delay.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services. Where appropriate, concerns may also be referred to the relevant local authority, police, or specialist safeguarding service.
5. Review
Safeguarding procedures, named responsibilities, training, recruitment checks, and record keeping will be reviewed regularly and whenever services or legal guidance change.
